Anglicon 2018 Cancelled
It is with great regret we must announce that Anglicon 2018 will not happen. There are many factors that lead to this decision, including low ticket sales, insufficient hotel room reservations, and a major guest that had to cancel due to professional obligations.
As you can imagine, this news makes all the volunteers that make Anglicon possible extremely sad, as collectively we have put in thousands of hours to create what we hoped would be a fun time for everyone. Unfortunately, it simply wasn't possible.
Further updates will be forthcoming, including information about the refund of memberships. We will be holding the general meeting on October 21st, 2018 where the executive committee will be available for questions.
Thank you everyone that pledged, volunteered, and joined us as a member. It's been an honor and a privilege to be part of such a magnificent piece of the Northwest fan community.
Q: I just got a refund from Paypal. Why?
A: As stated above, we have had to cancel Anglicon 2018. We attempted to include notice in the refund, but Paypal is not doing what we expected.
Q: I have not seen a refund yet. Will I get one?
A: Our technology and credit card policies dictate that we process refunds from the most recent transaction, backwards. We believe we have refunded all memberships that were paid through Paypal from January 29th, 2018 to the present.
On November 28th, 2018 we sent out an email to the remaining members who have not been reimbursed. We expect to process those requests for refunds through the end of the year.
Q: What about the Kickstarter?
A: The Kickstarter will be cancelled and no one will be charged.
Q: What if I want to donate my membership?
A: We will be refunding all memberships with the exception of the executive team. If you wish to donate back the value of your membership, please use the button at the bottom of the page. The remaining funds after the closing of the corporation will be donated to KBTC.
