Brian Johnson is an Academy Award winning visual and special effects artist and director, known for his work on some of the most iconic science fiction and fantasy films and television, including The Empire Strikes BackSpace: 1999, Alien, Aliens, and The NeverEnding Story.

Brian began his career as a special effects assistant with credited and uncredited work on Quatermass 2, 2001: A Space Oddysey, A Clockwork Orange, and other groundbreaking works. His work attracted the notice of George Lucas, who initially offered him the job of effects supervisor for the original Star Wars movie. He wasn't available at the time, but was able to accept the job for the sequel. 

Brian won Academy Awards for both Alien and The Empire Strikes Back, as well as a shared Special Achievement Academy Award for Empire in 1981, a BAFTA for Aliens, and a Saturn Award for Empire.      Brian Johnson and three R2-D2s
